Auction rules

  1. Auctions run in sessions every day: 9:00 am – 11:00 am and 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (Ghana time). Each item has its own lot, shown on the item page and in "Upcoming".
  2. Each lot lasts 2 minutes. Bidding opens at the starting price.
  3. Every bid starts a countdown of 30 seconds. If nobody bids higher before it runs out, the highest bidder wins and the lot closes straight away.
  4. A lot never runs longer than 2 minutes. When the time is up, the highest bidder at that moment wins.
  5. If nobody bids during the 2 minutes, the item is not sold.
  6. The amount you enter is your maximum. We bid for you automatically, only as much as needed to keep you in the lead, up to your maximum. Nobody else sees it.
  7. If the seller set a reserve price and bidding does not reach it, the item is not sold.
  8. If the item has a Buy Now price, the first person to press Buy Now while the lot is open gets it at that price and the lot closes.
  9. Every bid is a promise to buy. Bids cannot be cancelled. If you win, contact the seller within 24 hours and pay when you collect the item at the public pickup spot.
  10. Winners who do not complete the purchase, and anyone who places fake bids, get strikes. Three strikes suspend your account. Sellers cannot bid on their own items.
