This policy explains how Veribid (“we”, “us”), operated by Cybanext Technologies, collects and uses your personal data. We follow the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which also meet the requirements of Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

2. What we collect, why, and our legal basis

Cookies: only those needed to keep you logged in and protect forms. No advertising or tracking cookies. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means alone: a person always reviews ID checks, reports and strikes.
3. Who receives your data
- Other members: your display name, university, badges and listings are public. Phone and contact details go only to the other party after a sale is agreed.
- Processors working for us: SMS delivery (Arkesel), email delivery and web hosting. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities: police, courts or regulators only when the law requires it. Every access to identity records is logged.
4. International transfers
The website is hosted in United States. When data is processed outside your country, we use providers bound by contract to protect it (for example the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where required).
5. How long we keep it
- Account, listing and bid records: while your account is open, then up to 2 years for disputes, fraud and legal claims.
- ID photos, card numbers and selfies: up to 3 years after upload, then deleted automatically, unless needed for an ongoing investigation or legal claim.
- Security logs: up to 2 years.
6. How we protect it
ID photos, card numbers and selfies are encrypted as soon as they are uploaded. Only authorised staff can open them, after re-entering their password and giving a reason, and every access is recorded in a tamper-evident log. The site uses HTTPS. If a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires (within 72 hours where GDPR applies).
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data and get a copy (Art. 15) in a portable format (Art. 20);
- correct wrong data (Art. 16);
- have your data erased (Art. 17), except what we must keep for legal claims or investigations;
- restrict or object to processing (Art. 18 and 21);
- withdraw consent for ID and selfie checks at any time (Art. 7(3)); your Verified Student badge is then removed;
- complain to a data protection authority (Art. 77), such as the Data Protection Commission of Ghana (dataprotection.org.gh) or the authority in your EU country.
Download or delete your data from My dashboard → Security, or email compliance@veribidghana.com. We reply within one month.
8. Age
You must be at least 18 years old to use this website.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top and tell you by email or on the site when the change is important.
